Boat Trips
Groups of minimum 6/8 people can go everyday for.
They can always return on the normal boat trip on the weekends for free.

Requirements: Bottled water, hat, swimsuit, sunscreen, mask and snorkel.

You should leave around 7:15 a.m. via taxi down to the Escola Nautica de Maputo, next to the Facim (Trade Fair). Go through security and if asked show them your voucher that you are going to Inhaca. It is a small marina; look for a boat called the “Nordsman” or for Mr. Jorge. There is usually a large group of people waiting on the dock in front of the boat. Present your voucher. The boat usually leaves around 7:45 to 8:00 am , so you have to bee there at 07.30am . There is also secure parking for a daily fee. We can always pick you up on the way back. Confirm with us! First stop, you will arrive at Portuguese Island around 10:00 or 10:30 a.m. They will transfer you to the island and return to pick you later. Please confirm the time with them before leaving the boat. Here you can beach comb for lovely shells, snorkel, sunbathe and see the marine life at low tide. You can walk around the island.

If staying for the weekend, you can stay at Inhaca Azul Hotel with apartments for 2 person; 4 person; 6/8 person; Inhaca Lodge have a person/night with breakfast and dinner; Indigo Safaris, in self-catering Bungalows. Fixed tents and Camping. You can also camp at Lucas Restaurant and at the Light House, Santa Maria , for a bit cheaper but they are about 3 hours walking from the drop off of the boat. You can always find a boat to take you to the Santa Maria , where they have security. To the Light House, you should try to get someone to drop you by car and a person to secure your stuff or you will loose all of it!

You can also book with us for a Seafood Buffet at the Inhaca Lodge on Sunday's lunch! For bigger groups of minimum 8 people, the Seafood Buffet can be organizing any other day by request! The boat sails again to Inhaca Island before lunch time. You will be dropped off at the pier; this is where you will be picked up around 3:00 p.m. for your return to Maputo . Please confirm rendezvous time before leaving the boat.

The pier is in front of a hotel which you can visit and sit by their pool if you drink from their bar (not cheap). To the left of the hotel you can follow the beach to a pathway that leads you inland. Here you will find a traditional market with curios and further on you will find Lucas Restaurant that serves traditional food and the best seafood. Here you can meet the locals and other tourists and get more information on what you can see and do. Inhaca Island is very large, there is a Biology Museum , which is a two-hour walk, or you could try to arrange transportation at Lucas Restaurant . Make sure you are at the pier on time to return to Maputo , which are 3.00pm ! The boat will leave without you due to weather or tidal situations.

After departing Inhaca Island you should arrive in Maputo approximately 5:30 p.m. You should find a taxi outside the harbour gate. You can always phone us to pick you up! Don't walk if it 's getting dark.

Have a wonderful trip!
